My First 2 Weeks Publishing on Medium

10 thoughts about Medium from a Medium newbie

So, I’m pretty new around here.

I’ve had an account since 2018 though, but hardly ever used it.

And here I am!

Right now I’m feeling pretty pumped! It’s been a whirlwind rollercoaster of a two week period, filled with what I see as many wins personally. But there’s also been some ‘meh’ days too, which I can’t brush past.

So, if you’re interested, here are 10 thoughts from a newbie on Medium about Medium, through my experience of publishing 10 stories in two weeks. Let’s go!

I’ve been freelance writing for over a decade. I’ve also had various blogs for longer than that, under different names.

But to be honest with you, nothing has given me the push to write the way that Medium has. Seriously, what an absolutely fantastic idea!

I’ve been on a pretty extended social media break for a while now (I don’t even want to go back in all honesty!) and social media was where I would mainly share my writing before Medium. Now that those distractions are turned off and all of my focus is here, I feel so inspired to keep on writing every single day for an audience that actually wants to read.

I love so much about the platform, more of which I’ll share in detail in further points below. But overall, Medium really is awesome!

I am loving the supportive and inspiring community on Medium so much!

Before I started publishing on Medium, I spent over a month avidly reading articles every day — genuinely just loving the process of reading other peoples work and showing them support.
