June 2021 Monthly Digest

And another quarter has come to an end with us wondering, where did the time go? While football fans had a great month with the Euro2020 finally kicking off one year delayed, cryptocurrency markets are still trading sideways.

Bitcoin rose and fell several times but hasn’t managed to break through the $40,000 mark and stay there, so; we might still not be entirely out of the woods. Regardless, Morgan Stanley and El Salvador are definitely bullish news. The South-American country announced the release of their wallet earlier this month. It’ll be called Chivo, El Salvadoran Slang for “Ok! Fantastic! Nice!” and basically any other positive word you can think of. Every citizen who downloads and installs the wallet will qualify for an airdrop of $30 BTC. We’re looking forward to seeing how that plays out.

For Morgan Stanley, they’ve made it known that they went big in on the Grayscale Trust — which famously invests in Bitcoin. The financial institution scooped up more than 28,000 shares despite the sideways price movement.

In other news, the testnet for the London Upgrade on Ethereum was released as well, and developers are testing the heck out of it to make sure that the mainnet release will work as intended.

We listed various new assets on the exchange during June, held AMAs and hosted trading competitions and one Social Media Contest.

Here a few highlights.

In the first week of June, we listed BOND, the utility and governance token of Bonded. Finance. Anyone with substantial altcoin holdings might wonder how to put these to work. Unfortunately, popular lending protocols are limited in the assets they accept as collateral, leaving billions of dollars in DeFi dormant.

Bonded. Finance taps into those dormant assets, enabling instant liquidity and usability for altcoins. BOND is trading with BTC and USDT pairs.

Talking of usability, Jigstack brings various DeFi products and services together under one umbrella to enable anyone to build their own “financial universe”. The team just recently launched their launchpad called Lemonade and is working on various new products to make DeFi more user-friendly, which they’ll release soon. Their governance token STAK is trading with USDT on our exchange.

If you thought, DeFi was limited to Ethereum; you’d be quite wrong. There’s also a slowly increasing number of DeFi products building on the Bitcoin blockchain, and with Cardano releasing Smart-Contracts, it’s sure to attract many new projects.

In fact, there’ve been various product ideas in the Cardano community just waiting for this moment. DeFire is a liquidity and exchange aggregator that’ll facilitate the trading of Cardano native and other assets through aggregating orders across decentralized exchanges. The utility token of DeFIRE CWAP is now trading with BTC and USDT pairs.

Trading cryptocurrency isn’t easy with all the volatility and noise surrounding it. Even advanced traders sometimes find themselves lost in all the indicators. To give traders the chance to learn more about newly listed assets, we hosted several AMAs with token project teams, throughout which we gained valuable insights into their workings and plans.

We hosted the SuperBid team, sat down with the smart minds behind the DeFIRE exchange aggregator, learned first-hand about GamerHash and Bonded. Finance.

The SuperBid team keeps delivering with new ambassadors announced nearly weekly. We learned more about their marketing strategy during the AMA, how they think about increasing their audience, and what role blockchain will play in their app.

The GamerHash platform enables over 600,000 gamers to earn cryptocurrency with their spare computing resources. GamerHash takes out the entry barrier to mining by making it very user-friendly to get started. Anyone can mine on GamerHash with minimum knowledge of crypto.

It’s not very common for projects to build on Cardano — at least not yet as Etherum still has one of the biggest developer communities. During the AMA, Elliot Hill, Communications Advisor explained, why they’re very positive about Cardano.

On the 22nd of June, we welcomed Charles Robinson, CBDO of Jigstack, to our telegram channel to explain more about the DeFi platform. In case you were looking for a holistic explanation of the ecosystem they’re building, look no farther than our AMA summary:

During the last AMA of the month, we had Paul Mak and Dave D from Bonded. Finance as guests in our channel. They walked us through what differentiates the Bonded.Finance solution from other decentralized lending and borrowing solutions, and answered various questions from the utility of their token to which material to use to fish tuna.
