Social Media and Marketing

For my interview I had the opportunity to speak with David Chapman who is the President of Starter-Fluid LLC a consulting agency that has been in operation since 2014 and is located in the greater Boston area. In my interview I had the chance to talk with Mr. Chapman about his experience in business and what he thought the best way to market a product or a service in today’s rapidly changing markets would be.

In my interview, he told me that there are lots of ways to successfully market a product but one of the fastest growing ways is the use of social media. The more of an online presence you make the more viewers and potential buyers or clients you can reach out too. The best way for a young company to get their name out to the public is to start to make an online footprint.

This is a lot like what we have talked about in class. In class we went over how important it is to cross pollinate different forms of social media to reach out to as many potential customers as possible. Mr. Chapman went on to to describe different ways he had helped companies expand their social media reach and the tactics he was describing where very similar to the ideas that we discussed in class.

This interview gave a lot to think about and it when it comes to marketing. It really highlighted the importance of reaching out to clients in any way possible. It also reminded me of a fact most of us already know which is the most important part of the future of marketing may very well be the online platform. It was also interesting to see something that we learned about in the classroom be applied in the real business world.
